abstract A head guard adjustment mechanism comprising: a first band element (13a) for the head comprising a first rack gear (17); a second band element (13b) for the head comprising a second rack gear (18); a straight cogwheel (20) arranged in simultaneous operative coupling with the first rack gear (17) and the second rack gear (18); and a housing (58, 59) that at least partially encloses the first and second elements of the head band (13a, 13b), characterized in that: the head guard adjustment mechanism further comprises an endless screw (30) which has a central axis of rotation; and the first band element (13a) for the head further comprises a worm gear (19) arranged in operative engagement with the worm (30), in which the rotation of the worm on the axis of rotation causes the first band element (13a) for the head and the second band element (13b) for the head to move in opposite directions relative to the worm (30).
