A sinusitis treatment system, said system comprises: a guide catheter for insertion into the nose in a nearby position or in an ostium of a paranasal sinus; a guide wire (AG) to advance the guide catheter into the paranasal sinus; a balloon catheter (200) comprising a balloon (202), the balloon catheter is advanced over the guidewire (AG) to a position where the balloon (202) is in the ostium and inflatable to widen the ostium, and subsequently removed leaving the guide wire (AG) in place; and an administration catheter (120, 130), the administration catheter is advanced over the guidewire (AG) after removing the balloon catheter (200) to administer an implantable substance delivery device (12) in the widened ostium , wherein said substance delivery device (12) comprises (i) a substance reservoir that can be loaded with a substance that is therapeutically effective in diagnosing or treating sinusitis and (ii) a barrier that will limit the speed to that the substance will flow out of the tank. |
