titleOfInvention PROCEDURE FOR PREPARING 7-CYANO-2,5-HEPTADIENOIC ACID AMIDE
abstract Process to prepare the omega-amino-caprylic acid amide of the methyl ester of 7-cyano-2,5-hepta-dienoic acid, characterized in that said ester is treated with ammonia at a temperature between 0 and 50ºC, thus obtaining the amide 7-cyano-2,5-hepta-dienoic, which, hydrogenated in the presence of hydrogenation catalysts, preferably palladium, at a temperature between 0 and 120ºC, in alcoholic, hydroalcoholic, ethereal or ketonic solution, is transformed into the amide of suberic semi-nitrile, whose hydrogenation in the presence of ammonia and hydrogenation catalysts, preferably Raney nickel or cobalt, in inert solvents such as aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic ethers, at a temperature between 60 and 120ºC, leads to the formation of omega-amino-caprylic acid amide.
