Fusion polypeptide for use in a method of decreasing adhesion of a virus to a cell by contacting the virus with said fusion polypeptide, wherein the fusion polypeptide comprises a first polypeptide operably linked to a second polypeptide wherein the first polypeptide carries at least one glycan selected from the group consisting of: a) a Siaa3Galb4GlcNAcb glycan, b) a Siaa3Galb3GlcNAcb glycan, and the second polypeptide comprises at least one region of an immunoglobulin polypeptide, and wherein the first polypeptide is a mucin polypeptide that includes an extracellular part of a P-selectin-1 glycoprotein ligand or wherein the first polypeptide comprises at least one region of an alpha-glycoprotein polypeptide. |
