abstract | A corticosteroid solution comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a corticosteroid, SAECD, and a pharmaceutically acceptable aqueous liquid vehicle, for use in: (a) the treatment by nasal administration of an allergic symptom or disorder in a subject in need thereof, wherein (i) the corticosteroid solution provides faster relief of an allergic symptom or disorder compared to a corticosteroid suspension at the same unit dose; or (ii) the allergic symptom or disorder includes a non-nasal symptom selected from the group consisting of itchy / gritty eyes, watery / watery eyes, red / burning eyes, itchy eyes and palate, and combinations of the themselves; (b) the treatment by nasal administration of an ocular symptom or disorder or of a nasal symptom or disorder in a subject in need thereof, wherein (i) the ocular symptom or disorder is itching / gritty sensation in the eyes, watery / watery eyes, red / burning eyes, or a combination thereof; (ii) the nasal symptom or disorder is selected from the group consisting of: acute or chronic rhinitis, nasal polyps, post-surgical nasal polyps, snoring, cluster headache, obstructive sleep apnea, Eustachian tube dysfunction, otitis serous media, sleep disorders, daytime sleepiness, nasal boils, epistaxis, wounds of the nasal or sinonasal mucosa, dry nose syndrome, nasal bleeding and combinations thereof (c) treatment by ophthalmic administration of a symptom or a disorder allergies, or eye inflammation, in a subject in need thereof, wherein (i) in the case of treating an allergic symptom or disorder, the corticosteroid solution provides faster relief of an allergic symptom or disorder compared to a corticosteroid suspension at the same unit dose; and wherein (ii) in the case of treating ocular inflammation, the corticosteroid solution provides a more rapid reduction in ocular inflammation compared to a corticosteroid suspension at the same unit dose. |
