abstract | A crosslinkable aromatic polyetherketone comprising at least two residues, each comprising a carbon-carbon triple bond, wherein one of said two residues is present in said polyetherketone as a pendant group or a residue in which the triple bond carbon-carbon is part of the polymer chain; the other of said two residues is present in said polyetherketone as an end terminal group; said crosslinkable aromatic polyetherketone being obtainable by copolymerizing at least two aromatic monomers, giving rise to an ether bond and/or ketone-type bond after polymerization, and at least two acetylenic compounds, or by subjecting at least one aromatic polyetherketone to reaction with at least two acetylenic compounds; and said two acetylenic compounds are independently selected from compounds according to formula II wherein R1 and R5 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, acyl halide, nitro, C1-C4 alkyl, CF3 and a residue according to formula (III); R2 to R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, acyl halide, nitro, and a residue according to formula (III); "A" is a direct bond, an electron-donating linking group such as methylene, or an ether bond (-O-), or an electro-withdrawing linking group such as a carbonyl bond (-C(O)-); "D" is a direct bond, an electron-donating linking group such as methylene, or an ether bond (-O-), or an electro-withdrawing linking group such as a carbonyl bond (-C(O)-); "E" is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, and a residue according to formula (IV); formula (III) is a residue as shown below |
