abstract |
A process for producing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, said process comprising: (a) oxidizing an aromatic compound in at least one oxidizer, to thereby produce a gaseous discharge of the oxidizer and an oxidizer product comprising an aromatic dicarboxylic acid; (b) directly or indirectly feeding at least a portion of said gaseous discharge of the oxidizer to a thermal oxidation device (TOD), and (c) oxidizing said at least a portion of the gaseous discharge of the oxidizer in said TOD device, in the that during the steady state operation of said TOD device at least 60% of the fuel content supplied to said thermal oxidation destruction device comes from said gaseous discharge of the oxidizer or of the reaction products of said gaseous discharge of the oxidizer. |
