titleOfInvention Lift load support assembly, which has a jacket with multiple polymer compositions
abstract A load bearing assembly (30) for use in an elevator system, comprising: at least one elongated traction member (32); and a polymer jacket (34) that surrounds, at least partially, the tensile member (32), the polymeric jacket having a first part (36) that engages with the tensile member (32) and a second part ( 38) defining an outer surface (40) of the jacket (34), the first part (36) comprising a first polymer composition and the second part (38) comprising a second polymer composition at least partially different; wherein the first polymer composition includes a base component comprising at least one of a polyurethane, nylon, polyester, polyolefin, fluorinated polymer, halogenated polymer, vulcanizable natural rubber, rubber or synthetic silicone; characterized in that: the second polymer composition comprises at least one base component of the first polymer composition and at least one additive that is different from the components of the first composition; and the additive comprises at least one anisotropic material that includes molecules that are aligned in a pattern that allows the sliding between the molecules in a first direction and opposes the sliding in a generally perpendicular direction.
