abstract This invention is related to new compounds of Formula I represented by the structure of Figure 1, with methods for preparing them and with methods of using them as imaging agents for the evaluation of 5-HT {sub, 1A} receptors. Formula I comprises compounds where R can be any of the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkynyl, carbocycle or heterocycle; X may be any of the group consisting of fluorine, bromine and iodine; R ’can be any of the group consisting of hydrogen or methyl; as well as its pharmaceutically acceptable salts. # This invention is further related to the new compounds of Formula II represented by the structure of Figure 2, which are useful intermediates for preparing radiolabeled compounds of Formula I and with methods for preparing them. Formula II comprises compounds where R was defined above; X may be any of the group consisting of nitro, alkyl or aryl sulfonates, fluorine, bromine and iodine; R ’can be any of the group consisting of {rh} -methoxybenzyl or methyl.
