abstract An iced confectionery product, comprising an iced confectionery core and an edible composite coating containing fractionated palm oil and a liquid oil that has a level of fat SFA and oil additives not exceeding 33% by weight, while that conventional chocolate composite coatings have an SFA level of grease and oil additives from about 44 to 50% by weight, where fractionated palm oil and liquid oil are present in relative amounts sufficient to communicate to the coating crispy properties similar to those of the conventional chocolate composite coating.
