Rubella E1 antigen comprising amino acids 201 to 432, provided that said antigen does not have the sequences corresponding to amino acids 143 to 164 and 454 to 481 of native rubella E1 antigen and that it contains two disulfide bridges, in which a disulfide bridge is formed between Cys225 and Cys235 (C13-C14) and a second disulfide bridge is formed between Cys349 and Cys352 (C17-C18). |
