abstract | A method for identifying an anti-liver cancer agent, the method comprising: selecting a test compound that binds to a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence of a Wnt3 or Wnt11 protein or an FZD binding fragment thereof; and determine if the test compound is capable of: (a) reducing Wnt / FZD 7 signaling in a liver cell; (b) reduce the motility of liver cancer cells; (c) reduce the accumulation of β-catenin in a liver cancer cell; or (d) treat liver cancer in vitro or in a non-human animal in vivo; wherein a test compound that is capable of at least one of (a) to (d) is an anti-liver cancer agent. |
