abstract | A dose counter (101, 201) for use with a medicament dispenser, said dose counter comprising: a first counting wheel (120, 220) arranged to rotate around a first axis of rotation, including said first wheel counting counting marks (122, 222) and a set of primary drive teeth (124, 224) annularly arranged therein for the operable rotation of the first counting wheel around said first axis of rotation; a second counting wheel (130, 230) arranged to rotate around the first axis of rotation, including said second counting wheel counting marks (132, 232) and a set of secondary drive teeth (134, 234) annularly arranged on the same; and a launch wheel (140; 240) arranged to rotate about a second axis of rotation displaced with respect to the first axis of rotation, said launch wheel including a set of launch teeth (144, 244) arranged annularly thereon and in relation to engagement with the set of secondary drive teeth of the second counting wheel, so that the rotation movement of the launch wheel produces a rotation movement of the second counting wheel; in which said first counting wheel it also includes a fixed index tooth (128; 228) arranged to engage intermittently with the launch teeth of the launch wheel such that the rotational movement of the launch wheel produces the rotation movement of the first counting wheel only when said intermittent gear occurs; and wherein the dose counter having a display region (245) through which the first and second counting wheels can be rotated to present the counting marks in the display region; characterized in that: the second counting wheel is arranged concentrically with the first counting wheel such that the respective counting marks are concentrically arranged; the second counting wheel comprises a shutter (180; 280) that is removable to a shutter position in which the same shuttles the viewing region; the dose counter is configured and arranged to show a counting sequence in the display region and to make the shutter move to its shutter position at the end of the counting sequence; and the dose counter is configured and arranged so that the first counting wheel is unable to drive the rotation of the second counting wheel by means of the throwing wheel when the shutter is in the shutter position. |
