abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the synthesis of 3- (2-propyloxy) -2-propenoic acid or mixtures thereof and propargyl alcohol by two consecutive electrolysis processes in the same electrolysis cell containing separation means and an anode of a material containing nickel, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: #a) obtaining a nickel hydroxide anode by means of a first electrolysis in an aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide where the anode must be nickel or a material that contains nickel, # b) obtaining 3- (2-propyloxy) -2-propenoic acid by subjecting an aqueous solution of alkali metal hydroxide and propargyl alcohol to a second electrolysis, # c) acidification of 3- (2-propyloxy) acid -2-propenoic obtained in step b) with mineral acids diluted to pH 4. |
