A method for the in vitro evaluation of breast cancer that includes the measurement in a sample of serum or plasma of the concentration of a) s-ErbB-3, b) optionally, one or more other markers of cancer, and c) the use of the result of step (a) and, optionally, of step (b) in the evaluation of breast cancer, in which an increased concentration of s-ErbB-3 indicates the presence of breast cancer. |
