abstract | A transformed plant comprising in its genome (a) a first recombinant nucleic acid molecule comprising at least one regulatory sequence operably linked to at least one nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of: (i) a nucleotide sequence fixed in SEQ ID NO: 15; (ii) a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence set in SEQ ID NO: 16; (iii) a nucleotide sequence that has at least 90% sequence identity with respect to the nucleotide sequence set forth in (i) or (ii), where the nucleotide sequence encodes a gamma-tocopherol methyltransferase; and (iv) a nucleotide sequence that is completely complementary to the nucleotide sequence of any one of (i) to (iii); and (b) a second recombinant nucleic acid molecule comprising at least one regulatory sequence operably linked to at least one nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of: (v) a nucleotide sequence fixed in SEQ ID NO: 1; (vi) a nucleotide sequence encoding the amino acid sequence set in SEQ ID NO: 2; (vii) a nucleotide sequence that has at least 90% sequence identity with the nucleotide sequence set forth in (v) or (vi), where the nucleotide sequence encodes a geranylgeranyl transferase homogentisate; and (viii) a nucleotide sequence that is completely complementary to the nucleotide sequence of any one of (v) to (vii), where the first nucleic acid molecule and the second nucleic acid molecule are stably incorporated into the Genome of the transgenic plant. |
