Catalyst for the selective oxidation of sulfur compounds. # The present invention relates to a supported catalyst for the selective oxidation of sulfur compounds from the tail gas of the Claus process or streams of composition equivalent to elemental sulfur or sulfur dioxide (SO { sub, 2}). It is also the object of the present invention, a process for preparing such a catalyst, as well as the process of selective oxidation of sulfur compounds to elemental sulfur which employs the catalyst of the invention, as well as the gas catalytic incineration process of the Claus process using the catalyst of the present invention. |
