abstract Use of a compound (C) containing silicon as a drying agent in a polyolefin composition comprising a crosslinkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups (A), in which the compound (C) containing silicon has a structure according to the formula (R1 ) x [Si (R2) y (R3) z] m (I) in which R1, which may be the same or different if more than one of these groups is present, is a functional hydrocarbylmonomatic residue or, if m> = 2 , is a bifunctional one, comprising from 1 to 100 carbon atoms and, at least, a heteroatom or heteroatomic group selected from -O-, -O- (CO) -, -NH-, -NH2, -NH- (CO) -NH2, -NH- (CO) -OCH3, an epoxy group, a carbamate group, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -NR-, -PR-, in which R is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon with 1 to 100 carbon atoms; R2, which may be the same or different if more than one of these groups are present, is a hydrocarbyloxy residue comprising from 1 to 100 carbon atoms; R3 is R4Si1 PR2 q, where p is 0 to 3, q is 0 to 3, with the proviso that p + q is 3, and R4 is - (CH2) rYs (CH2) t- in the that r and t are independently from 1 to 3, s is 0 or 1 and Y is a heteroatomodifunctional group selected from -O-, -O- (CO) -, -NH-, -NH2, -NH- (CO) -NH2, -NH- (CO) -OCH3, an epoxy group, a carbamate group, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -NR-, -PR-, in which R is a hydrocarbon or hydrogen atom and in those that R1 and R2 are as defined above, and x is 0 to 3, and is 1 to 4, z is 0 or 1, with the proviso that x + y + z> = 4; and m> = 1 or 2; wherein the polyolefin composition further comprises a silane condensation catalyst (B) comprising an organic sulfonic acid comprising the structural element: Ar (SO3H) x '(II) where Ar is an aryl group substituted with at least one C4- to C30- hydrocarbyl group and the silane decondensation catalyst (B) comprises 100 to 200 carbon atoms, and at least 1 'x'.
