titleOfInvention | Optical fiber based liquid level detector |
abstract | Hollow prism for detecting the level of liquid in the presence of an optical beam, comprising: a hollow element 101 with a suitable geometry, a first flat surface 102 disposed at the proximal end of said hollow element 101, wherein said first flat surface 102 is arranged in a perpendicular direction to the geometric axis of said hollow element 101, a second flat surface 103 disposed at the distal end of said hollow element 101 and at an inclined angle "α" with respect to said first flat surface (102), a first dielectric element 104 sealed on said first flat surface 102, a second dielectric element 105 sealed on said second flat surface 103, a sealed hollow space 107 disposed between said first and second dielectric element 104 and 105, in which an incident optical beam 109 penetrates through said first dielectric element 104 and comes out as an emerging optical beam through said second elementodieléct rich 105, and wherein said emergent beam is maintained without deviation 110 when said hollow element 101 is not submerged in a liquid medium 113 and said emergent beam undergoes a deviation 114 when such liquid medium is submerged 113. |
