abstract |
A procedure for preparing a copper-enriched yeast biomass, characterized by the steps: (i) culturing Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast cells of the SA 221 BM strain deposited in the DSMZ with the accession number DSM 21530 on June 6, 2008 or strain SA 586 BM deposited in the DSMZ with the accession number DSM 21531 on June 6, 2008, in a liquid nutrient medium comprising a carbon source, a nitrogen source, at least one amino acid and a salt of copper, so that a copper-enriched yeast biomass is obtained in the form of a Cu-GSH complex in which the intracellular content of the Cu-GSH complex is greater than 1% by dry weight; and (ii) separating the copper-enriched yeast biomass obtained in step (i) from the liquid nutrient medium. |
