titleOfInvention Method and device for multiplexed bioanalysis based on high sensitivity nanotechnology
abstract A high-sensitivity multiplex bioassay characterized in that it comprises the following steps: providing a plurality of latex or silica nanoparticles; applying at least one probe of a first type, having an affinity for at least one analyte, to each nanoparticle; applying a plurality of probes of at least a second type, having an affinity for said at least one analyte, to the surface of a support allowing spatial detection of said analyte; mixing said plurality of nanoparticles with a fluid sample to thereby determine the binding of one or more of said nanoparticles to said analyte, when contained in the sample, as a result of the binding occurring between the probe of the first type and the analyte; contacting said analyte-bound nanoparticles with said support to cause binding to the surface as a result of the binding occurring between probes of said second type and said analyte; detecting said analyte by analyzing the light signal generated by said surface-bound nanoparticles when illuminated.
