Process for the production of thermoplastic or elastomeric polymer dispersions, using a reaction vessel (1,10,20,23,24) with a first volume (1) and a secondary volume (10,20,23,24), in the that a first agitator is located and operates in said first volume (1), and a secondary agitator (20) is located and operates in said secondary volume (10,20,23,24), in which the first volume (1) is at less than 20 times greater than the secondary volume (10,20,23,24), in which the agitators in both volumes are capable of manipulating viscosities above or equal to 1000 MPas, including the steps of: a. loading the first volume (1) of the container with an initial amount of polymer and optionally water and / or optionally an alkaline substance; b. heating the vessel (1) externally at a target process temperature in the range of 80-300 ° C; C. operate the first stirrer in the first volume (1) for at least half an hour at a speed in the range of 10-100 rpm, in which stage c is optionally performed simultaneously with stage b; d. add water and optionally an alkaline substance to the first volume (1); and. connect the secondary volume (10,20,23,24) to the first volume (1) and operate the secondary agitator (20) on the secondary volume (10,20,23,24) at a speed above 1000 rpm and recycle the reaction product through said secondary stirrer while maintaining basically constant operating temperature for a period of time greater than a recycling ratio of 3 of the primary and secondary mixers to form the dispersion. |
