abstract | Procedure for the catalytic hydrolysis of SR- or SH-substituted carboxylic acid nitriles of the general formula R1-CR2R3-CN, to form the corresponding carboxylic acid amides, where R1, R2 and R3 may be the same or different and signify hydrogen, at least one SR- or SH-substituted hydrocarbon radical, chosen from the group consisting of a linear or optionally branched C1 to C10 alkyl radical, a C6 to C10 aryl radical, a C4 to C8 heteroaryl radical containing O, N and/or S, or a C7 to C12 aralkyl radical, and R3 is optionally a hydroxyl radical, and the radical R denotes a linear or optionally branched C1 to C4 alkyl radical, a C6 to C10 aryl radical, a C4 to C8 heteroaryl radical containing O, N and / or S or a C7 to C12 aralkyl radical, and in which the hydrolysis is carried out with the help of a manganese dioxide catalyst containing at least 52% by weight of manganese and, additionally, at least one compound of the lanthanides, thus com or lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium or cesium, and which has a specific surface according to BET of 50 to 550m2/g, of the general formula: MnMexMyOz, where x is a number between 0.05 and 0.002, and is a number between 0.06 and 0.02 and z is a number between 1.7 and 2.0, Me represents at least one element of the lanthanides, M represents an alkali metal from the group lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium and, eventually, additional water of hydration is contained. |
