abstract Process for the separation of gases containing carbon monoxide, in particular gasnitrogen containing carbon monoxide, from a crude HCl gas containing at least carbon monoxide and in the case of nitrogen, which can be used in a process of oxidation of HCl, consisting of at least the process steps: a) compression of the crude HCl gas in a compression stage at a high pressure; b) cooling of the compressed HCl crude gas, so that the hydrogen chloride is liquefied and the gas containing carbon monoxide remains; c) separation of this gas containing carbon monoxide from liquefied hydrogen chloride; d) evaporation and, if necessary, overheating of liquid hydrogen chloride and preparation as purified HCl gas for the HCl oxidation process.
