abstract | An immunogenic composition for use in a method of eliciting an immunotherapeutic immune response in a vertebrate organism, in which the immunogenic composition comprises, a multilayer film comprising two or more layers of polyelectrolytes, in which adjacent layers comprise charged polyelectrolytes opposite, in which a first layer polyelectrolyte comprises an antigenic polypeptide comprising one or more surface absorption regions covalently linked to one or more antigenic determining regions, wherein the antigenic polypeptide and the one or more surface adsorption regions they have the same polarity, in which the one or more surface adsorption regions comprise one or more motifs of amino acid sequences, the one or more motifs of amino acid sequences consist of 5 to 15 amino acids and have a net charge magnitude per remainder greater than or equal to 0.4, and in which the one om s determining regions antigenic consist of 3 to 250 amino acid residues, wherein the antigenic polypeptide is not a homopolymer, it is at the least 15 amino acids long and tieneuna aqueous solubility at pH 4 to 10 greater than 50 .mu.g / ml; wherein a second layer comprises a second layer polyelectrolyte comprising a polycationic material or a polyanionic material having a molecular weight greater than 1,000 and at least 5 charges per molecule, and a charge opposed to that of the first layer polypeptide, and in the that the antigenic determining region comprises at least one antigenic determinant of an antigen selected from a viral antigen, a bacterial antigen, a fungal antigen or a parasite antigen. |
