abstract Method of biological purification of an aqueous solution containing ammonium perchlorate, and possibly also nitrate ions, characterized in that it comprises: - a nitrification / denitrification sequence; the nitrification and denitrification stages being respectively carried out, in an aerobic condition with nitrifying bacteria in the presence of a mineral carbonate substrate and nutritional elements, in an anaerobic condition with a bacterium-denitrifying bacteria in the presence of an organic carbon substrate and nutritional elements; and, - performing, separately from said at least one nitrification / denitrification sequence, in anaerobic condition, with perchlorate ion reducing bacteria in the presence of an organic carbon substrate and nutritional elements, a perchlorate reduction stage; said perchlorate reduction step being performed separately and downstream of said denitrification / denitrification sequence, when said aqueous solution contains nitrate ions.
