abstract The present invention describes the synthesis of a mesoporous silicon solid, SBA-15 / APS, which contains acidic and basic groups in its structure, as an excellent catalyst for the preparation of quinolines by Friedlánder condensation between 2-aminoaryl ketones and other compounds carbonyl. The catalytic activity that this solid presents in this transformation is greater than that observed for other previously described heterogeneous catalysts; the corresponding quinolines were synthesized with excellent yields during shorter reaction times and considerably minimizing the amount of catalyst used in the process. # The procedure described is carried out in the absence of solvent, minimizing the isolation and purification steps of the quinolines as much as possible obtained. In addition, small amounts of catalyst are used so that waste generation is also minimized.
