abstract |
Integrated microfluidic cartridge comprising: a. means for extracting nucleic acids from a biological sample; b. a means to synthesize amplicons; C. a means to detect amplicons; and, a waste isolation chamber, wherein said means for extracting nucleic acids from a biological sample comprises a fluidic subcircuit for extracting nucleic acids from a biological sample with solid phase; said means for synthesizing amplicons comprises a fluidic subcircuit for synthesizing amplicons without a mechanical mixing element; and said means for detecting amplicons comprises a fluidic subcircuit with a multiplex detection chamber and an optical window in an integrated single disposable member, and the fluidic components of the integrated single member are controlled by a series of internal pneumatic control elements comprising actuated valves by means of diaphragms and bellows chambers, wherein said series of internal pneumatic control elements are provided with a pneumatic interconnection circuit for connection to a controllable and external pneumatic drive distributor. |
