abstract A filter assembly to be fixed in an ostomy bag, the ostomy bag being formed of a panel on the side of the body and a panel not on the side of the body joined together, comprising: a. a porous filter (10) containing deodorizing material to deodorize gas passing through it, said filter being fixed to the panel (4) not on the body side, the panel not having on the body side an outlet (30) to leave that deodorizing gas flows through it outside the bag, b. a microporous membrane (8) of two faces of composite material that at least partially covers said filter to obstruct the entry of liquids into the filter, said membrane being comprised of a layer (14) of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene on one side and one layer ( 16) supporting hydrophobic material on the other side, said membrane covering at least partially said filter with said support layer oriented towards said filter, and characterized in that c. a connecting film (12) has internal and external ends, said connecting film (12) being welded at its inner end to said polytetrafluoroethylene layer (14) and at its outer end to said panel (4) not on the body side .
