An implantable delivery device for the administration of at least a first therapeutic agent to a target tissue, comprising: a housing (17), said housing comprising a reservoir (20) with a drug release opening for at least one first release therapeutic agent in a target tissue, said reservoir having at least a first wall that is substantially impermeable to a first therapeutic agent to be placed therein; - a sealing base (18) for sealing said release hole in a target tissue, wherein when said deliberative orifice is sealed to a target tissue, said device prevents a first therapeutic agent from being released into said reservoir if it is not through said release orifice in the target tissue, and-a fixation mechanism to facilitate the sealing said release hole in a target tissue, said fixing mechanism comprising at least one element of the group which with consisting of a sufficient amount of a adhesive (33) to adhere said sealing base to a target tissue; characterized in that: said adhesive is kept inside of at least one cavity or channel within said unwound base, and there is at least one stabilizer (26) in said first wall to engage an obturate retaining suture to hermetically bond said device to a target tissue. |
