titleOfInvention | Chemical distribution container |
abstract | Device (150) for distributing chemical products to contain powder reagents that interact with water to form an antimicrobial liquid for use in an apparatus (10) for cleaning and microbial deactivation of articles, comprising: a rigid container (162) which has a fluid inlet (224) that can be connected to a water source (86) in an apparatus for cleaning and microbial deactivation of articles and a fluid outlet (192) in fluid communication with the elements for microbial deactivation ; a continuous fluid passage through said device between said fluid inlet and said fluid outlet; a plurality of separate barrier elements (252, 254, 256) disposed within said continuous fluid passage to define a plurality of compartments (172, 174) within said device, said barrier elements being impervious to reagents in powder, but permeable to said chemical reagents when dissolved in a liquid; a dry powder reagent within said compartments (172, 174) to form an antimicrobial solution when water flows through said device; characterized in that the rigid container comprises an extension (212) defining the fluid inlet (224), said extension being connectable in a sealed manner to the water source in the apparatus; and further characterized by a plate (262) arranged in said continuous fluid passage above said dry powder reagent, said plate having a plurality of separate openings (264) formed therethrough; and a fluid passage (272) defined above said plate, said fluid passage communicating with said fluid inlet (224), which defines a part of said continuous fluid passage, and is fluidly connected to said compartment ( 172, 174) by means of said plurality of separate openings formed through said plate. |
