titleOfInvention HOMOGENEOUS ACID CATALYSIS PROCEDURE THAT INCLUDES THE REUSE OF POLYSTYRESULFONIC ACID (APES).
abstract Homogeneous acid catalysis procedure comprising the reuse of polystyrene sulfonic acid (apes). # The present invention relates to a process for carrying out a reaction in the presence of polystyrene sulfonic acid as an acid catalyst, characterized in that the process comprises the following steps: a1 ) bringing fresh soluble polystyrene sulfonic acid into contact with the reagents necessary to carry out the catalyzed reaction, b1) isolating the catalyst from the reaction medium, a2) reusing the homogeneous catalyst by contacting the polystyrene sulfonic acid isolated in step b1) or b2 ) with the reagents necessary to carry out the catalyzed reaction, b2) isolating the catalyst from the reaction medium, this procedure is also characterized in that steps a2) and b2) are carried out at least 1 time. # Preferably, the procedure of the present invention is used to obtain biodiesel from oil with a high concent ration of fatty acids or in the dehydration of xylose or glucose.
