abstract | A process for separating suspended solids from a fermentation liquor that has a pH below neutral by submitting the fermentation liquor to a solid-liquid separation stage, where the fermentation liquor is produced in a fermentation process for production of a fermentation product, whose fermentation liquor comprises lignin, wherein the solid-liquid separation step is assisted by a treatment system, characterized in that the treatment system comprises an anionic polymer selected from natural polymers and modified natural polymers having a charge anionic so that the equivalent weight is below 250, and synthetic polymers formed of at least 50% by weight units of anionic monomers, with the proviso that the treatment system does not include a cationic polymer having an intrinsic viscosity (IV ) of at least 4 dl / g. |
