titleOfInvention | A new biomarker to monitor disease development and evaluate the efficacy of therapies |
abstract | A method to monitor the development of a disease in a patient, wherein said disease is selected from the group comprising: a) tissue trauma b) a reperfusion injury as a result of myocardial infarction or stroke, organ transplantation or any other surgical operation, c) cancer or cancer metastasis, and d) an inflammatory state, and where the CD73 extracted from a tissue fluid of said patient is used as a biomarker, where the method is repeated in two or more times and the CD73 level of the sample, with that of a previous analysis, and is used to indicate the worsening of the disease or to indicate the remission of the disease, where an increase in the level of the CD73 indicates remission of the disease and a decrease in the level of the CD73 indicates worsening of the illness. |
