abstract |
An in vitro method for determining the risk of a compound from inducing a decitokine release syndrome in a human that includes the steps of: a) providing a whole blood sample, where said blood was exposed to the compound, for at least 30 minutes. b) measure the level of pentraxin-3 (PTX-3) in said sample, and c) compare the measured level of pentraxin-3 with a control, where the control is the level of pentraxin-3 of a sample of unexposed total blood, where a significant increase in the level of pentraxin-3, compared with the control, indicates an irrigation for said compound to induce a decitokine release syndrome. |
