A compound of general formula I, ** Formula ** in which -XAY- together represents a group selected from (a) -CO-NR4 -, (b) -CO-O -, (c) -CO -, ( d) -CO-NH-NR4 -, (e) -NH-CO-NH -, (f) -NH-CO-O -, (g) -NH-CO -, (h) -NH-CO-NH -SO2 -, (i) -NH-SO2-NH -, (j) -NH-SO2-O -, (k) -NH-SO2- (I) -O-CO-NH -, (m) -O -CO -, (n) -O-CO-NH-SO2-NR4-, and (o) -O-; n represents 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, or, if -XAY- represents -CO -NR4-, -CO-O-, -CO-, or -CO-NH-NR4-, so n can also represent 0; R1 is selected from: (a) -H, (b) -alkyl (C1-C6) , which is optionally substituted with halogen, nitrile, -OR6, -SR6 or -COOR6; the number of said substituents being 1, 2 or 3 for halogen, and 1 or 2 for any combination of said halogen, nitrile, -OR6, -SR6 or -COOR6, (c) -phenyl moieties, which is optionally substituted with halogen, nitrile, -OR6, -SR6, -R6 or -COOR6, the number of said substituents being perhalo for halogen, and 1 or 2 for any combination of said halogen, nitrile, -OR6, -SR6, -R6 or -COOR6 residues, (d) -C1-C4 alkyl-phenyl, in which the alkyl portion is optionally substituted with up to three halogens; and the phenyl portion is optionally substituted with halogen, nitrile, -OR6, -SR6, -R6 or -COOR6, the number of substituents in said phenyl portion being perhalo for halogen, and 1 or 2 for any combination of said halogen, nitrile moieties, - OR6, -SR6, -R6 or -COOR6, (e) -SO2-NR3R3 ', (f) -CO-NR3R3', (g) -PO (OR16) -R3, (h) -PS (OR16) -R3 , (1) -PO (OR16) -O-R3 (j) -SO2-R3, and (k) -SO2-O- R3; |
