A procedure for evaluating possible treatments to determine its activity against prions or prion-related diseases, characterized by: subjecting a prion model to a treatment, applying the prion model to a substrate, in which the prion model comprises an organism Dependent on ileal fluid (IFDO) that has been shown to inhibit a response similar to that of prions to a treatment designed to attack prions, in which the treatment includes: cleaning the substrate with an alkaline cleaning composition that has an alkali concentration of 0 , 02 to 0.1M and which eliminates the proteins, and contacting the cleaned substrate with an oxidizing agent containing peracetic acid; and evaluate the effect of treatment on the prion model as an indicator of the effect of treatment on prion or prion-related disease. |
