abstract | Procedure for extracting olive wood and extracts enriched in products of food interest. # The procedure for extracting olive wood comprises the steps of: (a) extraction of wood with ethanol, (b) concentration of ethanol extract, precipitation of ethanol extract and filtration thereof, (c) hydrolysis of the concentrated and filtered ethanol extract obtained in step (b), by treatment with an acidic aqueous solution, (d) addition of a basic aqueous solution, (e) dichloromethane extraction , (f) extraction of the aqueous phase from step (e) with ethyl acetate. The procedure allows to obtain extracts enriched in products of high added value, such as hydroxytyrosol, oleuropein and elenolic acid, together with D-mannitol, all of them useful, among others, in the food sector. |
