titleOfInvention | Method to measure the clotting time of a blood sample |
abstract | A method for measuring the coagulation time of a blood sample, which comprises contacting the blood sample, calcium, and a compound selected from the group consisting of phospholipid, tissue factor, and a complex of tissue factor and phospholipid, in the presence of a calcium chelator, in which the calcium chelator has a chelating stability constant for lower calcium than that of citric acid or its salt generally used as an anticoagulant and in which the calcium chelator is chosen from the group consisting of maleic acid, malic acid, malonic acid, lactic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, butyric acid, isobutyric acid, valeric acid, isovaleric acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid, citraconic acid, itaconic acid, tricarbalyl acid, propane-1,1,2 acid, 3-tetracarboxylic acid, butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylic acid, glycolic acid, thioglycolic acid, tartaric acid, isocytic acid, p-acid iruvic, oxaloacetic acid, and salts thereof, and measure the clotting time of the blood sample. |
