titleOfInvention Needle and cone set for automatic injector
abstract A needle and cone assembly (14) for an injection device (1), the device comprising: a cover (40) having an application portion (45, 49) adapted to be applied to an outer surface of a cartridge (12) , and a needle support portion (50) having a wall that includes an opening (52) therein, the wall defining the inner and outer surfaces; a first cone portion (42) having a front portion (56 ) that extends through the opening (52) in the wall and that defines a needle receiving channel (58) through the opening (52) in the wall and that has a section (54) that extends to along and is adjacent to the inner surface of the wall; a needle (46) mounted in the needle receiving channel (58) and extending outwardly thereof; characterized in that the assembly further comprises a second portion of cone (44) which is mounted on the front portion (56) of the first cone portion (42) and which receives at least a portion of the needle (46), the second cone portion (44) having a number of ribs that (66) extend radially, which rest against the outer surface of the needle support portion (50) and extending outwardly therethrough, the second cone portion (44) also having a support portion (68) extending along the needle (46); in which the second cone portion ( 44) is disposed outside the needle support portion (50) of the cover (40) and rests against the outer surface of the needle support portion (50) and the first cone portion (42) is positioned at along the inside of the needle holder portion (50) of the lid (40), such that a flange portion (54) is adjacent to the needle holder portion (50) of the cap (40), forming a sandwich structure of mutual reinforcement of the second cone portion (44), wall, and the first cone portion (4 2) extending around the opening (52) in the wall, wherein the first and second cone portions (42, 44) are composed of a plastic and fuse.
