titleOfInvention | Impact resistant polyurethane and poly (ureaurethane) articles and manufacturing processes thereof |
abstract | A polyurethane material comprising a first portion of crystalline particles that have self-orientation and that are joined together to fix their orientation along a first crystallographic direction and a second portion of crystalline particles that have self-orientation and that are joined together to fixing its orientation along a second crystallographic direction, the first crystallographic direction being different from the second crystallographic direction, said crystalline particles comprising more than 30% of the total volume of the polyurethane material, in which the polyurethane is a reaction product of components that comprises: (a) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; (b) from 0.3 to 1 equivalents of at least one branched polyol having 4 to 18 carbon atoms and at least 3 hydroxyl groups; (c) of 0 , 01 to 0.3 equivalents of at least one polycarbonate diol; and (d) from 0.1 to 0.9 equivalents of at least one diol having 2 to 18 carbon atoms and which is chemically different from polycarbonate diol, in which the components of the reaction product are essentially free of polyether polyol and in which the reaction components are maintained at a temperature of at least 100 ° C for at least 10 minutes. |
