C2-substituted animoethanol derivatives and their use as antitumor agents. # The present invention provides a group of compounds with antitumor capacity through the inhibition of acid ceramidase and dihydroceramide desaturase to cause increased levels of cellular dihydroceramides, as well as to a pharmaceutical composition comprising said compounds and to the use thereof for the manufacture of a medicament, and more particularly a medicament for the treatment of certain types of cancer. |
