abstract | A radiation curable aqueous composition, comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane (A) of high molecular weight obtained from the reaction of at least one polyisocyanate compound (Ai), at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (Aii) which it contains at least two reactive groups capable of reacting with isocyanate groups, at least one hydrophilic compound (Aiii) containing at least one reactive group capable of reacting with isocyanate groups and which is capable of making the polyurethane prepolymer dispersible in medium aqueous directly or after the reaction with a neutralizing agent to provide a salt, at least one chain extender (Avii) containing active hydrogen capable of reacting with isocyanate groups and providing chain extension, and, optionally one or more polyols (Avi); at least one ethylenically unsaturated polyurethane (B) of low molecular weight, different from polyurethane (A), obtained from the reaction of at least one polyisocyanate compound (Bi), at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (Bii) containing at least two reactive groups capable of reacting with isocyanate groups, at least one hydrophilic compound (Biii) containing at least one reactive group capable of reacting with isocyanate groups, and which is capable of making the polyurethane prepolymer dispersible in medium aqueous directly or after the reaction with a neutralizing agent to provide a salt, at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (Biv) that essentially contains a reactive group capable of reacting with isocyanate groups, and, optionally, one or more polyols (Bvi) and / or one or more chain extenders (Bvii) containing active hydrogen. wherein the polyurethane (A) has a weight average molecular weight of more than 100,000 Daltons and the polyurethane (B) has a weight average molecular weight of at most 100,000 Daltons. |
