Compositions and procedures for improved administration of hydrophobic therapeutic agents |
abstract |
Pharmaceutical composition, comprising: (a) a hydrophobic therapeutic agent; and (b) a vehicle comprising (i) at least one hydrophilic surfactant and (ii) at least one hydrophobic surfactant, said hydrophilic and hydrophobic surfactants being present in amounts such that after dilution with an aqueous solution at a rate of aqueous solution with respect to a vehicle of 100: 1 by weight, the vehicle forms a transparent aqueous dispersion using an absorbance of less than about 0.1 at a wavelength of 400 nm, in which the composition contains less than 5% tri-esters of glycerol of C6 fatty acids at about C25. |
