titleOfInvention Polymeric polyols and stabilizer systems
abstract A stabilizer suitable for the preparation of polymer polyols by in situ polymerization of one or more vinyl monomers in a polyol containing said stabilizer; stabilizer comprising a stabilizer precursor derivable from a polyoxyalkylene polyether containing a low intrinsic unsaturation, which has: an intrinsic unsaturation of less than 0.020 meq / g; a functionality of 1 or more, and a number average molecular weight PMn, such that Mn> 3,000 Da x F0, 39 in which F is the average nominal functionality of the intrinsically low unsaturation polyol; said stabilizer precursor which also has 0.01 to 2 moles of unsaturation induced by each mole of polyoxyalkylene polyol ether containing low intrinsic unsaturation; wherein the intrinsic unsaturation is the result of the redistribution of the alkylene oxide derived moieties during the synthesis of the polyoxyalkylene polyol; and induced unsaturation is the result of the reaction of the polyoxyalkylene polyol with a reactive species with polyols containing a non-allylic unsaturation; wherein said stabilizer precursor is prepared by reacting that polyoxyalkylene polyether containing a low intrinsic unsaturation with a polyol reactive species containing a non-allylic unsaturation.
