A NEW SEQUENCE OF NUCLEIC ACID DIRECTED TO PLASTS, A NEW BETA-AMYLASE SUCCESS, A PROMOTER SENSITIVE TO STIMULUS AND USES OF THE SAME. |
abstract |
A method for increasing or decreasing the activity of β-amylase in a plant, the method comprising the steps of stably incorporating, in the genome of a plant, a chimeric gene comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding a sequence directed to plastids, said nucleic acid sequence comprising the sequence known herein as SEQ ID NO: 1 and having 1-294 nucleotides and encoding a sequence capable of directing a protein to a plant plasto or sequences that have a homology of at least 65% or more with SEQ ID NO: 1 and that hybridize with said SEQ ID NO: 1 under stringent medium conditions and that encode a sequence having the same address capability and a sequence coding for β-amylase and that regenerates a plant that has a modified genome. |
