abstract Method for the detection of renal damage. # The invention relates to a method for determining the presence of renal damage in an individual as well as a method for predicting the progression of said renal damage by means of the detection of Reg3B as well as additionally, by means of detecting one or more proteins that are selected from the list comprising, fetuin B, Ras-related GTP-binding protein A, serine protein A3L inhibitor, subunit 1 of COP9, gamma subunit of ATP synthase, ribonuclease UK114, aminoacylase 1A, alpha-enolase, keratin 5, parvalbumin alpha, ribonuclease 4 or serine protein A3K inhibitor. Kidney damage can be an acute renal failure. Said renal pathologies can be caused by the administration of a nephrotoxic agent, where the nephrotoxic agent can be an aminoglycoside antibiotic such as gentamicin.
