titleOfInvention | PROCEDURE AND SYSTEM FOR THE STABILIZATION OF ARACHIDONIC ACID FOR USE IN A TEST FUNCTION TEST. |
abstract | A method for measuring platelet inhibition in a whole blood sample obtained from a person treated with aspirin, comprising: providing a lyophilized test reagent containing arachidonic acid at a concentration within a single-use test package sufficient to maximize platelets of the whole blood sample and an antioxidant that reduces the rate of oxidation of arachidonic acid and does not interfere with platelet function, in which said single-use test device package further comprises an absorbent of oxygen to create an inert environment after packaging of the single-use test device; and said single-use test device is stable at room temperature for at least three months; and combining said whole blood sample with said lyophilized test reagent into a suitable container and measuring platelet agglutination in said sample. |
