titleOfInvention | DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MEASUREMENT OF CÉRVIX. |
abstract | A device (600) for determining a dimension of a female reproductive organ comprising: a hollow member (604) having a distal opening (610), a proximal opening (612) and a light (614), in which the opening distal (610) of the hollow member (604) is adapted to contact the reproductive organ; an elongated member (602) positioned within the lumen (614) of the hollow member (604), the elongated member (602) having a distal region (606) and a proximal region (608), a measuring scale (618) arranged in the proximal region of the elongated member (602); and a stop (616) slidably engaged with the elongate member (602) in the proximal region of the elongate member (602), characterized in that the stop (616) is adapted to contact the proximal opening (612) of the hollow member (604) as the elongated member (602) is advanced distally within the light (614), the measurement scale (618) slides past the stop (616) as the elongated member (602) ) advances so that when a distal end of the distal region (606) is brought into contact with an opposite surface in the body and the further advance of the elongated member (602) is avoided, the dimension of the reproductive organ is able to be measured by reading the position of the stop (616) on the measurement scale (618). |
