BIOMARKERS AND PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE THE SENSITIVITY TO MODULATORS OF THE RECEIVER OF THE EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR. |
abstract |
An in vitro procedure for predicting the likelihood of a mammal responding therapeutically to a colorectal cancer treatment method, comprising administering an EGFR modulator that inhibits EGF binding to EGFR or EGFR kinase activity, in which the procedure it comprises measuring the mRNA expression level of both the epirregulin and anfirregulin biomarkers in a biological sample of said mammal, in which a high expression level of said biomarkers with respect to a predetermined level indicates an increased probability that the mammal responds therapeutically to said colorectal cancer treatment procedure. |
